Additional Information

Emotional intelligence (EI) is a critical yet often underutilized skill in healthcare education. As educators, our ability to recognize, regulate, and utilize emotions directly influences how we teach, mentor, and engage learners. In an ever-evolving healthcare landscape, integrating EI into our teaching practices is essential for fostering resilience, enhancing communication, and cultivating a psychologically safe learning environment.

This keynote will explore the foundational principles of EI and how health educators can use it to improve student engagement, manage challenging conversations, and lead with confidence. Through real-world applications and interactive reflection, participants will gain practical strategies to enhance their emotional intelligence and create meaningful learning experiences.

Tiffany Gibson
Tiffany Gibson MSN, RN, NPD-BC, CPN

Creator and educator of New Nurse Academy, LLC

Tiffany Gibson was born in the Bronx, New York, the first generation of American-Jamaican family. Her love of books and reading at an early age propelled her into the love of education and sharing information. As a self-proclaimed perpetual student, she always sat front row in all her classes wanting to learn new things and be a curious learner. She graduated in 2005 from Temple University with a Bachelor's in Public Health and in 2008, obtained a Bachelor's in Nursing from Drexel University. In 2017 after working as a pediatric nurse, she obtained her Master's in Nursing Education. She later completed a post-master's certification in Healthcare Diversity Leadership while maintaining her national board-certification in pediatric nursing and Nursing Professional Development Specialist. Tiffany left bedside nursing in 2016 to become a full-time Clinical Nurse Educator and part-time adjunct faculty. She later achieved a post-master's certification in Healthcare Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and concentrating in equity and inclusion in nursing professional development and education. This sparked the idea to create New Nursing Academy, LLC., an online coaching, mentoring, and learning community for nursing along the career continuum. Through the lens of emotional intelligence, Tiffany creates space for nurses to grow, expand, and show up as their authentic self, practicing integrity, personal agency, and psychological safety. This mission--to create conversation and community for the Emotional Intelligent Nurse. This will change the culture of nursing.
