Yiuvany Aguilar, RN, BSN, AHNA is shift manager in the Telemetry Unit at Mercy Hospital, Bakersfield. She is a board-certified holistic nurse and a teacher, trainer and speaker from the Online University of John Maxwell.She is a Certified Professional Coach from the Institute of Orange County, CA and a Primordial Sound Mediation Instructor, Chopra Center, San Diego, CA.

Lynette Dahlman, MSN, NPD-BC, NEA-BC is the Director of Clinical Education and Academic Partnerships , Huntington Hospital, Pasadena, CA., ANCC board-certified in Nursing Professiona Development and Nurse Executive, Advanced.

Program Description

This program will enable the participant to use the power of mindfulness and compassion to promote self-care and help you thrive in your work. Mindfulness and meditation help you avoid that slippery slope into burnout strengthens your ability to slow down, concentrate and pay attention to what matters most. Scientifically proven to have many health benefits, mindfulness anchors you in the present moment, freeing your busy mind to focus on the here and now. The content will include guided sessions of mindfulness meditation practice, movement exercises, and contemplation. The art of de-stressing with coloring will be shared as a form of relaxation and wellness.

Objectives:

1. Describe ways to incorporate mindful practice in daily life.

2. Handle difficult emotions with ease.

3. Practice the art of savoring gratitude and self-appreciation.

4. Demonstrate simple self-compassion exercises.

$60.00 for OHE Members and Students 
$70.00 for Non-Members
